At the crack of dawn on 27th April 2014 a group of 14 hardy Friends of the park gathered at Alexandra Road Park to be wowed by the amazing birdsong that we usually just sleep through..
We spent an hour walking around the park with our expert birdsong identifier Andrew Peel of the Marylebone Bird Society, and he helped us identify 12 different birds:
Blackbird
Song thrush
Long tailed tit
Wood pigeon
Gold finch
Green finch
Wren
Robin
Magpie
Herring gull
Lesser black back gull
Carrion crow
…and a fox!!
Afterwards we were rewarded with a wonderful breakfast waiting for us in the Tenants Hall!
Make sure you join us for next years Dawn Chorus – the first after the park restoration…
