HLF bid documents

As part of the successful Heritage Lottery Fund ‘Parks for People’ funding bid, submitted in February 2013, a number of detailed documents about the proposals for Alexandra Road Park were prepared.

Design proposals for improvements to the park: These are focused on the creation of new playgrounds in the original playground spaces, the restoration of the planting and soft landscaping, and improvements to accessibility and the paths across the park to tackle subsidence issues. Conservation Management Plan: this sets out to record the park’s significance as an important twentieth century landscape set in the context of a Grade 2* listed housing estate. It also sets out to record the benefits of the park socially and makes recommendations on its long term care and management. Download: ARP Conservation Management Plan

Activity and Audience Development Plan: This summarises the evaluation of current park visitors’ experience and views about how the park could be improved, and sets out a detailed plan for increasing activities within the park in future, in partnership with local residents, schools, community groups, heritage interest groups etc. Download: ARP Activity Plan

10-year Management and Maintenance Plan: This document summarises the current arrangements, and sets out detailed proposals and recommendations for the management and maintenance of the park over the next 10 years, taking into account the Conservation Plan guidance and the design proposals. Download: ARP 10 year M+M plan
