The leaves are green and the the birds are busy making their nests in the ivy and the trees.
On Sunday 27th April we will be having our 2014 Dawn Chorus Walk led by Andrew Peel of the Marylebone Bird Society.
This will be rather special as it will be the last Dawn Chorus Walk we will have in our very overgrown park before the Heritage Lottery park restoration begins later this year.
Meet at the “fort”-that’s the round structure at the Abbey Road end of Rowley Way at 05.25 for a 05.30 start.

There will be a meeting this Monday evening 13th January 7 p.m -9 p.m to look at the plans for the Alexandra Road Park restoration which will begin this year.
J and L Gibbons landscape architects will be ready to answer all your questions as well as our head gardener and the heritage lottery fund project team.
The meeting will take place at the T.R.A. hall by the tall Chimneys on Rowley Way.
This healthy young fox decided to take a nap amongst the planting on one of the lower balconies on Rowley Way today and was only woken by the click of the camera.
Amongst the interesting things that go on at the Garden Museum in Lambeth are the Winter Lectures.
On Monday the 11th November Sarah Couch,historical researcher and Neil Davidson landscape architect from J and L Gibbons will be talking about our Alexandra Road Park .
The talk is called
The Alexandra Road Estate Neighbourhood Park; Its creation and regeneration.

This Sunday- Sept 2nd we will be having a celebration picnic in the”bowl” area of Alexandra Road Park . There will be food – and Punch and Judy for small and not so small kids! If you can bring some food to share all the better.Hope to see you there along with some sunshine.If rainy – in the hall at the South end.Picnic begins at 1.30 and the first Punch and Judy show is at 2.15.
Wonderful news – Alexandra Road Park has been awarded the long anticipated Heritage Lottery grant for restoration.Work will start on the park early next year and will take around eighteen months. Thank you to all the teams who have worked so hard on this and thank you too to all of you for being a “Friend of Alexandra Road Park” We will be having a celebration picnic at the end of August . The Society of Garden Designers have published an article about our Park in the June edition of their Journal. Apart from being sold in a few places The Garden Design Journal is by subscription only so they have kindly given us permission to put the article on our website so we can all have a look. Bats are back in our park.
At 7.59 p.m last Saturday on the first warm day of the year three bats were seen in the park . Each were alone above different areas.
They were very small- pipistrelles I think .
Maybe we will have a bat walk some time later in the year .
Our Alexandra Road Park dawn chorus walk will take place on Sunday 28 th april.

Saturday 2 March 2013 activity morning
Come and join us on Saturday 2 March for a Friends of Alexandra Road Park activity morning.
We will meet in the Tenants Hall at 10am and then head out to do some much needed tidying up of the park grounds.
Gloves and tools will be provided if you don’t have your own. And you might want to wear wellies or sturdy shoes and the ground may be damp.
There will be tea & cake in the hall for everyone.
